I was using a jigging spoon looking for Smallmouth yesterday afternoon. Stopped over what I thought was an isolated rock pile, dropped a jigging spoon to the bottom and foul hooked a perch as soon as I started jigging. There was a massive ball of them on the fishfinder. I was near the green buoy between the port and the donut in 40-45'. Marked several big pods of fish on the bottom in that area.

I looked around the area by the green can and donut this morning. Could not find much from 10-54 fow. The only thing I marked was in about 20 fow. No bites at any depth, and I did not see the other two boats get anything either. But I was moving around a lot and could have missed fish being caught.

The couple of times I have looked lately all I have seen is Alewives. I know there have been sporadic reports of some fish being caught from portage to MI City so it should heat up any time.

I think I saw you out there this morning, Joe. I marked all kinds of stuff in the 20 FoW range between the Donut and the green buoy. Caught one 4" perch.

Also got this guy near the Donut this morning after trying for perch. Dipsy diver set 55 back on a purple/black spoon. It was fun to crank in. Weighted 10lb 8oz.

When out of Michigan city yesterday three of us finished from 630 to 1230 pick up 4Perch very slow day
