FYI... got out to Portage to try for perch. 2 keepers (13 1/2"), 2 dinks, 2 golbies. Tried wind sock, back trolling, anything to keep the vertical presentation. flies caught the keepers. Marked fish from 45 to 50 FOW. COULD NOT STAY ON THEM

better luck next time.

Thanks for the report. A Minn Kota with Ipilot works wonders for staying on the perch assuming you trailer your boat. Its on the expensive side, but hands down the best piece of equipment I have ever purchased for a boat.

Talked to a friend of mine yesterday at our retirees dinner and he showed me pictures of a two man limit they caught Saturday. They didn't get started till around 1 pm. fished 46 FOW north of the Ditch. Fatheads was his best bait and moved around a lot in that area. All fish were 11-14 in. nice fish, they had some throw backs. Hopefully they hang around awhile, we can't get out till Thursday. Rudey

Rudy, that is the fishing story of my life...LOL you should have been there yesterday. "we killed um." there were plenty of players and I only saw 4 other fish caught.

Yes I have looked at these Minn kotas. I had a battery die on me Saturday and did not have time to replace it before Sunday Morning. The other battery just couldn't keep me in position. I have an old motor that needs to be replaced. I have the desire but not the finances YET! New batteries mounting and motor $$$$

Mothers day is coming so my wife just might get one. LOL

On water about 7:00-. Gave it until 11:00 or so. Boat s were spread out and it seamed everyone was searching. Of course you had the usual anchor boys as I call them. The guys that have the patience to wait for the perch to come to them.
If I don't get the I pilot maybe she can get a dyson! :woohoo:
