TOPIC:

Got out of the office a little early today and convinced the wife to go perching. We got on the water by about 4pm. We searched along with one other guy around the ditch and could find nothing but schools of alewives. after an hour, I just started driving around aimlessly watching the HDS.

Around 6pm I found a monster perch school about a mile or so west of the ditch in 47 FOW. I put the ipilot on anchor mode and told the wife to prepare to limit out. Not sure if it was the east wind or what, but these fish had a serious case of lockjaw. We were over them the entire time and not a tap...................ugh.

At least you were able to get out, a few fish would of made the day a little better. If you didn't get out you would have been haunted by the " I wish we went". Thanks for the report. Rudey

It was attack of the killer gulls on the way out of the ditch - the wife was a little freaked LOL.

The only thing worse than getting pooped on would be that the gulls were picking perch up and eating them!!!

I was perch fishing last summer off the dunes. Finished off a limit and started the outboard. As soon as I planed I got bombed right in the head.......that sumbitch was a hundred feet in the air too....luckily we didnt get bombed yesterday - wife might have not ever come back out with me
