Sorry guys, sure it’s a newb and a half question but I haven’t been out that way in 5 years. What’s the best launch to get out to the bridge and canals? I used to launch by the bar and lock in/ up. Any specific launches? 27$ at cal park seamed a lot

can launch at the river in burnham water front pub is a good one don't much care for papa chilies ramp or the ramp at 95th st
hammand marina is probably the best or new by hitting Indiana boat club

The way I understand it is Cal Park doesnt get checked and a few boaters I know dont pay.........according to them anyway. Go at your own risk though - its only hearsay and I have no direct experience with that launch.

We launched out of Cal Park last weekend and had the place to ourselves. I was wondering the same thing, as $27 is insane for the low quality of the launch facility there and had heard that they don't enforce the fee before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. I asked a CPD officer at the launch and he said that the police department isn't responsible for enforcing launch fees, that it is a park district function and was unsure of their enforcement of the launch fees as well. So take that for what it's worth...

As for the fishing, we moved around a lot and caught probably 30 or so 6-8" fish and released all of them. Couldn't seem to find any of the larger fish. I was sure happy to catch a few, as my days on the water have been very limited this year.

hey, i'm with you. any fish is a good trip. any time you can run the boat, catch a fish and take a picture its a success in my book. As for the size, I've never had a "jumbo's only" day in my limited experience.
