Fished 7:30 to about 1:00. 20 - 40 FOW from Baldy to Central Beach. Only caught 4, all day, with only one of those being a keeper size at 10". Marked some pods here and there, but not a ton.

Marked TONS of what I believe were alewife out in about 35 FOW. Got a glimpse of them a few times as the top of their school would come up to about 10 ft., and they were shiny silver.

Didn't see anyone else catching and the couple boats we talked to had similar results to ours. Should have gone trolling for silver fish instead.

Lots of ales this time of year. Get yourself a sabiki or some tiny plain hooks and catch a few. Put a couple out under a slip bobber. You’ll be amazed how many Perch they catch and there’s sheep and steelies in the neighborhood too. They also work in meat rigs.

I was on the water at 5:30am today talked to a lot of perch fishermen no one reported big catches. I saw 3 steelhead caught, one off the end of the light house from the pier and two straight out from the light house in 50-60 FOW. Saw a a dozen or so surface. I caught a giant Sheep and had two others on and I broke one off, I think they were sheephead too. thanks for sharing!

I had similar results in Portage with no keeper sized fish and the same should have gone for silver attitude.

fished from 6:30 - 11:30. Tried to beat the ARMADA back to the ramp. We ended up boating 27 for 2 guys but we felt like we were the lucky ones out there. Only saw a few here and there get caught. We find a small pod of active fish and just kept making short drifts across them. If we held with spot lock the wouldn't bite. Once that wind died down so did the bite for us. Keep Grinding!

Were you fishing the same water? We were debating on heading to the other side to check out the condos and the water tower but ended up just calling it for the day.
