Takes an Illinois license to fish that, or would IN work ??
What would closest ramp be ? I live fairly close but have not fished it in a very long time.

Ramp options are a good question this time of year. Typically you are probably best to go from Hammond marina, as it's nicer/safer in my opinion then your other option, which is Cal Park. I just don't know if Hammond is still open this time of year, other then maybe for the duck hunters if the ramp isn't frozen - which of course it shouldn't be, since it hasn't been that cold. I also believe the Cal Park launch is $25 fee from the City, but I could be wrong on that...it's been awhile. I'm curious to see what others say here too on the launching part.

Hammond is open 365 days. Cal park is free from Labor day to Memorial day There is a Chicago cop in the parking lot most of the time at Cal park.

Did not know that about cal park. Good to know. And as for hammond it is open unless they say it's too icy. Which sometimes is a joke..

4 man limit today. Fished near 95th St. Most fish just over 8 inches.

Looks like the Indiana, Illinois border goes straight through the harbor or area just out from the canal. Do you need both an Illinois and Indiana fishing license ??
