TOPIC:

Grabbed a bucket of minnows and decided to do some prospecting for perch this morning. Had to dodge all the Steelhead trollers in shallow by the ditch, but drifted from 15 - 45 feet a few times without spotting as much as a blip on the sonar. Headed to the donut and had the same experience. Talked to one other boat and they managed a few dinks earlier but nothing to take home.

Thanks for the report! There were a few perch caught in our June perch assessment on Wednesday. A few near Mt Baldy, but most of them were east of MC, past the condos, in 15 feet. Same pattern as our May netting, a lot more the farther east you go. Only set at that 15 ft depth so not sure about deeper

A LOT of alewife in shallow earlier this week

Out of portage ,slip in and out 18-25 fow. Caught 6.all fish were 10-11” full of eggs. CPR all the fish.wont be long folks

started out for steelhead...trolled to #1 marker wo any hits...went to troughs and big blowout wo seeing any marks...went back to ditch at about 10-11 am and went in front of ogden dunes...marked some bait? in 20-30 fow and [dropped a couple lines...eventually got 9 decent perch...not throw-backs...had to leave at 1d pm...all in all had a[ great day
