A little bit of trolling motor issues gave us a late start but fished 7-12:30 and ended with 13 keepers, only a couple toss-backs all on minnows.  Started at the state park- was slow but steady.  Moved east and found nothing.  Went back near the donut around 11:30 and trolled .5 mph hoping to find a school.  Graph lit up on the bottom, hit spot lock, and in a matter of 30 seconds 5 rods hit and we pulled up 4 nice ones including a double.  With fish flopping on the floor of the boat we frantically reloaded and dropped our rigs back in only to not score a single hit for the rest of the day…couldn’t figure out if we scared them off or what happened.  Anyways a solid day on the water.

On another note, was surprised to see how many boats were out trolling the port in the morning.  Either there is something going on out there that’s hush hush or nothing to report about…I guess all us internet scouters out of the loop will have to try ourselves and find out the old-fashioned way

Another forum says a batch of skamania is shooting up the creeks. And another says kings are starting to stage.

I thought the run peaked about two months ago for steelhead….but very possible.  I originally thought that there weren’t enough kings to draw a ton of attention but maybe that’s not the case.  67.5k stocked in the east branch of the Little Cal in 2018.  Hopefully there are a few still swimming.
