Launched from Cal Park ramp yesterday (11-6-2021) and headed to Cal River scanning for those perch. Hit north slip first. No perch schools of any size. Few shore fisherman. They said no luck so far early morning.
Did mark lots of larger fish (unknown type) chasing apparent (alewives) at mouth of North slip.
Went to mouth of Cal River, several boats trying to find perch like me. Scanned around, nothing. Tried a few drops may of had one bite.
Boated to Crowley's first bay and marked large schools of something. Did end up catching 1, yes 1 perch. 10" healthy.
Boated south to grain towers. Scanned few schools of fish. Only caught a rock bass and a small smallmouth. Yes fishing for perch.
Tried minnows, red worms and raw shrimp.
Water temp near mouth 50 degrees (surface). Back by grain elevators 54 degrees (surface).
Season is close.
Sea ya out there

We tried it out yesterday (11/7/2021) as well. Did just about the same thing as you! The only luck we had was back in Lake Calumet. All we got all day was 2 small yellow perch, 2 channel cats, and 2 white perch. Mainly used perch rigs with large fatheads and shrimp. Hopefully next weekend will be better.
