Well I been reading some of the local reports on this site a few other sites and it appears the guys that wanna talk aren't getting any fish or just a handful of dinks here and there. I have been one of the guys that has been keeping my mouth shut and fishing with an unemployed twink friend who likes to fish and goes along for the ride and avoids the internet so thats a perfect guy to fish with. Anyway me and the little twink have been on some nice schools of Perch around the Calumet Harbor area oh probably the past week to 10 days fishing all by ourselves and not another Perch boat around just salmon guys running up towards Chicago for some greasy Lakers. The fishing has been very early and a 2-3hr bite and then its game over! But we have been getting all of our fish on plastics so theres no live bait or shrimp for us just a ziplock bag full of rubber minnows......






Sometimes ya just gotta move around and try new areas the community holes don't always produce every year and ya can't depend on the internet to put you on fish. Not sure what this cold front and north winds are gonna do these Perch but getting them to bite in dirty water can be tough.

Hey poorboy, very nice catch, Me and my brother will be over there Friday, a little extra info would be great like the depth of water you were in and any shoreline info you could give us on a position, there is a 12 pack of beer in it for you.

Hey Dave I see it's your first post so welcome to the site.



This should help ya out make life a little easier for ya .... kinda like being spoon fed...

I was fishing just on the inside of the breakwall on the right where the current meets the calm water about 100yds from the rocks. I was expecting to fill a limit quickly this morning but I think all of the kings in the area may have chased them out. So bring a casting along with ya.
