I got out late, as in the sun is up and I'm still driving. When I put in there were a couple charters leaving and they went out past the 40' depth that I thought to start at. So I went to 55 and set up then I waited..... and waited....... and changed lures..... and waited.... at 9:30 I hit a steelhead on a grn and black bomber off a board. He jumped twice, straightened the hook and I was back to....... waiting. I finally got off the lake at 6 or 7 pm loaded up and headed home with my tail between my legs. And oh yeah what is up with those bugs?? and thank god the biting black flies were back this year, at least some things on the big pond don't change. I spent my time swatting as many as I could with the electric fly swatter I keep on the boat. It gives me something to do while I'm waiting.
