Fished from 5:30-9:30 going 2 for 2 (one king-one drum). Stayed within 2 miles of the ditch mostly in 45-50' fow. Best speed was 2.8-3.0mph.

Took a family friend who had never fished Lake Michigan from a boat before. Started around 5:30 about 200 yards North West of the Number 4 heading North. Had a drag screamer on an 8 color with a Caramel Dolphin spoon before I could set the first dipsy. Came unbuttoned before we got the planer board to the boat. Set the first dipsy and the 7 color took off with an orange crush spoon. Friend reeled in his first ever Lake Michigan fish, which was a nice sized Drum. He was happy to catch his first ever drum, so good to go. Rather slow the rest of the evening but we had one hit on an 11" green flasher with a white fly behind dipsy out 90' on a 1 setting and one on a green Spin Doctor with a light colored fly on the other dipsy with the same setting. One came unbuttoned, the other was a natural king. Great night to be on the water and my friend got to reel in two Lake Michigan fish, great success!
