Sooo we check the weather before heading out this morning and it says 7% chance of rain on accuweather. So we launch out of Hammond and the lake is nice - barely any waves but the sky to the North is kind of hazy/cloudy but we figure we would give it a shot. So go out to the spot I wanted to start at (N of Wreck) decide to drop lines a little bit more South of what I would have if it were a perfect day. So I start to put in the rod holders when I hear thunder in the distance. CRAP!! turn the boat back towards Hammond but with the waves and the storm moving faster than I was anticipating - we got a free interior boat wash, clothes washed, and some of my gear. We did stay in front of the lightening but got drenched in the run back. Of course I am on vacation for the next 5 days and weather is not looking great for any of it.

That was defiantly a storm you don't want to get caught in that we had this morning! Glad ya got off before the real bad stuff. Hoping the weather man will change his mind before Saturday.

Watch those radar loops and future casts. That thing looked lasty from what I saw.

Yes it was an ugly storm from what I drove through on the way home (boat on trailer). Yes i should have checked the radar but I think my zealousness to get out in what should have been a relatively calm lake was overriding my better sense.

@Plane to Sea - it was Thursday - Thursday is Superman undies, Spidey is my Wednesday undies. :)

Check out to see if your sonar will accept Sirius Weather service. Works where cell phones won't. Saved my butt several times as well as my Superman, Spideys, tighty-whities and my favorite purple plaid boxers from accidental discharges.
