Yea, great story! My buddy snagged a rod and reel combo in Minnesota in 20 fow walleye fishing. That's as close to that story as I can get. We nicknamed our buddy "the pole" because he was a crazy pollack (all in good fun sensitive ones). So it was funny that "the pole" caught a pole. Too bad wasn't a big walleye on the end of it! But, 100 fow, three days later, with fish still on?? Incredible!! Tell me there ain't a God! Lol

One of the best stories I have ever seen! I have seen rods pulled in and caught later, but that was by shore with a lot of fishermen. To be out in a boat that deep, in the middle of no where, then three days later get the rod back are amazing odds. Unbelievable, great story!

The first storyteller doesn't have a chance - usually. You tell me a story, I can tell you one that tops it. Not this time! Actually, you got me with the Schnauzer with the Kick-r hairdo. Love it. Sadly, i'd have to use white paint on my little Molly dog and she wouldn't be as cute. Actually, very little cute about her, we have to put a pink collar on her to give the idea she's not a he.

Anyway, I'm going to be with the editor of Great Lakes Angler magazine next week and I'll pitch your story to him. Save the photos! Needs to be shared by more than us guys here and on Facebook.

So did you weigh in the fish still on the line? I'm sure the tourney rules don't list whether your technique is allowed. Just wondering....

Awesome that would be cool to share our story with everyone from the magazine. Yes we did weigh our fish even though it was the only fish we caught for both days of the tournament so it didn't really do us any good. Tournament control said they didn't care how we caught it.
