Fished today with my better half out of Portage. Fishing was slow and we picked at them in shallow water. 3/8 oz. thinfins in the new colors and the old standby old #29 all took fish. Flats and riggers set just under the surface took most of the fish. 1 on dodger fly combo on a dipsey set just under the surface. Many were not of legal size today. It was a nice day to be out.

Good job Ed. Sorry I couldn't talk to anyone today my radio would not transmit. It was just a bad day. Although it was my 5th time out, it felt like a shake down trip.

My son Dan had a slow day also. We quit at noon and started home. We kept five coho, 4 fell to a R.T. Thinfish and one was taken on a Lickity-Split coho fly. It was a green and purple number. Great looking and very well hand made. We did very well on Saturday going 11 for 16 I think in the afternoon. Steely Dan couldn't keep a hook in the coho's mouth. They would spit it back to him about 10 feet from the boat. Overall we had a great trip to the lake.

Safe drive up, safe drive back down, fish in the coolers, and smiles on the faces. What could be better than that ?

Nice to meet you Dan, and Don! Hopefully fishing while be as good or better when you guys come back up.
