Got out yesterday from Washington Park in the am, 2nd boat in the water. Hit 4 keepers- 3 coho and a laker that I released. Worked 15-50 FOW with 38-40 in front of the North breakwall being best. The surface temp was 44-50 with 47 being the best. I had to work all day for the fish I caught but I was only running 3 lines and finally started hitting 'em on orange and yellow with black bars - body baits and spoons. Had 7-8 shorts that I released and missed 3 or 4 hits, couldn't really tell if it was a wave or a short. I cannot honestly remember a time that a fish caught didn't hit the cooler, generally speaking if you caught it it was big enough to keep. But this year is sure different lots of shorts.... but they do put a bend in the pole and break up the boredom.
