I'm stuck working this beautiful holiday weekend. Last trip out I spent looking for clean water and perch without much luck. I'm planning on fishing Monday morning and leaning toward salmon. Any inputs on where to fish? Any bait showing up yet? Last week there was clean water offshore between Gary and Portage but it was really dirty between Hammond and Gary. Any info helps. Happy Easter guys.

I know there's coho off shore in 100+ feet. I caught fish in 95-105 on Friday. And lots of lake trout in 60-90, especially over by East Chicago and the Gong.

Heard the silver fish are starting to show up near shore again too. Some reports on here from Saturday both near and off shore. From Gary all the way up to St. Joe.


Seems like there's fish close and far, one of those times where it's hard to make a decision to fish the beach or head way out

I'm taking my grandson out tomorrow, we're going over to GL and start our search there. If we find anything I'll give you a shout on 68 Southshore. We should be on the water by 8 am. Rudey

We ended up at Gary and bobbed and weaved with the romp over there. Ran 8 rods finished 13/?? with all coho in the box. Orange J11s and D/F 's split the action with a couple fish on SS spoons for variety. Really would have liked to ran out and done some perching but the wind picked up and that was that. Rudely, we heard you on the radio. We were dealing with a small tangle and couple fish on the deck then when we got to the radio we couldn't raise you. Seemed like fish were pretty scattered and it was just a grind em out bite out there. Great to finally have a nice weather day off.

No problem SS, we were bouncing around too. Trying to listen to the radio , helping the 12 year old grandson get fish in and the MOB call kept us busy. I had a D&F out all day and never took a fish or even a hit, everything else at least got 1 fish or a hit . Go figure. Rudey
