A little hard to post after reading the last post about Tony, makes you think about a lot especially as I turned 52 last week. With that said, there a lot of ways to go and passing in your sleep with a smile on your face after a great day with friends and family is hard to beat. May he rest in peace.

As mentioned in the previous post which was short on detail we went 11-15 with a 6 rod spread on Saturday. Riggers were at 50, 45, 40, 37 with 250' and 200' copper on the outriggers. Headed due north out of the port and blew by a number of boats in about 75' of water and set up about 1/2 mile north of them. Nothing happening on the north troll and decided maybe I overran the fish and headed back in and a little to the east. By 10:00 with nothing to show starting to get a little worried and my wife saying "I'll layout some burgers for our Father's Day party just in case" was starting to haunt us. Decided to change everything but depths because temps at the ball looked good. Orange Helmut Stinger on the 250' copper, silver/green 3" J-Plug on 200', Pickle Seed Stinger on the 50' rigger with Mixed Veggie slider. 45' Rigger dodger w/green/black fly. 40' rigger dodger w/green mini-spin n'glow and green fly, 37' rigger dodger with mini orange spin n' glow topper with green/blue fly. Game on! Worked a single line between 80' and 90' twice and limit was in the box with pretty much all set-ups firing. Even had to hand lined a steelie in that hit tangled copper line we messed with for a half hour before getting straight.

Sunday another late start with the rain and wind but decided to give it a whirl. Same set-up, same place, but the strong west winds made the north and south troll tough so headed west until the water settled some picked a few, turned to the east and picked a few more before we had to get back and grill for the family. A lot less bait in area but about every other time we passed bait we picked up a fish. Ended up 6-9 all Coho. Watched a nice steelie grab the slider and rocket straight up without triggering the release and jump twice right behind the boat before he was gone.

Good times!

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great day and an ok day. Hate it when the steelies come up and are gone but better then not seeing them at all.
