Has anyone launched out of diversy or burnham harbor, do you guys know how far u have to travel to hit 60-100 fow. Going to head out to Waukegan cuz it gets deeper faster but if it's about the same outa the city I'll try there instead of driving 30 more minutes to Waukegan planning on heading out around noon any info would be greatly appreciated

You are an adventurous person wanting to trailer a boat downtown. It just scares me to trailer up I-94 through the city, much less get off the expressway, find the marinas, figure out where to park and the rest. Anyway, There's not much deepwater close in off of downtown. It's just about like heading out of EC or Hammond according to the charts. If it's only a half hour farther to Waukegan, that's where I'd go. Good ramps, easy access and parking.

Thank you bnature I kinda assumed that it was about the same but never attempted it I have fished Waukegan b for and after hitting 50 fow few miles out its a straight drop almost so that's where I'll go will try a live report if not a report tonight

How fast do you drive that Waukegan is only a half hour past downtown?

I have not launched from either but I know Capt Ralph does at times. I thought the same thing as BNature about towing downtown but if you go Stony Island then LSD (LSD I think you can get ticketed for being on with a truck/trailer) you can avoid most of the headache. I think it is like $20 or $25 to launch downtown though.

Out here now Waukegan one for one Laker about 8 pounds reports were super slow to say the least going to troll till dark
