I went out of North Point yesterday with Bill (Angry Pirate) and Tim (Tmik34). It was generally slow and bites were lite but some fish were around. It was our first experience there so we just kept pressing into deeper water to see what we could find. We ended up 8 for 18 or so. 4 Lakers, 2 steel, 2 coho. Lost a screaming king on a wire diver. Not much bait around - very little.

The USFWL was at the cleaning station doing fish surveys and taking samples back to the lab. They noted they saw mostly Lake Trout come in. The thermocline was 60 - 65' down. We worked 150 FOW to 330 FOW.

I am guessing Bill will make a report when he gets the opportunity, but not much else to tell other than the above.
Boatless!

I think you basically summed it up. Other than if you go up there and do not want lake trout target steelhead. Cover water and troll fast 3.0 to 3.4. Dan the big charter captain out of that port took 9 kings yesterday by his pics on Facebook look like he was in much shallower water than us. I would guess 90 to 150 fow. That also being said there were other boats in tight and I think he was about the only other boat to catch kings. So I have to say you have to give credit where credit is due.
It's better to ask forgiveness than for permission.
