Fished 3 corners all year for the most part. When I launch from portage its been Michigan waters pretty much north northeast out of portage. When I launch from Whitting I fish the Illinois side of 3 corners starting around the shipwreck. Lately we have been starting further out to about 120 to 130. May need to go further yet because it slowed down.
Launched from Benton Harbor once this year about a month ago and did well heading out west northwest in about 110 ft of water with riggers down about 75 ft.

1 tip with any paddle and fly is to run the heaviest leaders you can. 40lb 50lb leaders from the paddle to the fly. This will give it more action rather than a flimsy 18lb line.

That's awesome. I'm trying to get there myself. I've finally got my boat rigged pretty close to the way I want it. I pick up a ton of info from here frequently and from a friend of mine that I fish with who is a veteran salmon troller. I'm hoping all this advice translates to better success in the near future.

Their is a lot of experienced fishermen on these forums, they turned things around for me. Let me know if I can help in anyway. I Often launch from Whitting these days, and I am out almost every weekend weather permitting. Headed out now to watch the airshow and fish a little.
