Well it has been a good year for us that seems to be winding down. Today we started right outside the ditch. 5:30AM Made several passes with zero results. So we and most others started wondering around. Fished east in 60fow past the state park, still zero for zero. Watched a number of seagulls flying over our flat line. Suddenly a yellow BIRD released. Yup it was a gull. Large gray dirty looking 1 but he had my spoons right in his beak. So after about 10 minutes of him flying around the boat we got him back on the water & next to the boat. Took the pliers & away he went. Now I'm not sure how many of you have had this happen but this was my 2nd gull. So fun fun fun. A little later a rigger went off with the biggest drum I have ever seen. Had to be close to 20#. None the less nothing we were after. Did hear about a couple boats out deeper that had mostly Lakers & 1 or 2 slivers. Anyway it was not a bad day on the water as most are. We should make another trip or 2 this year but it's about over for us. Thanks to all on this site for the great info they have shared.

Thank you for the report. At least you didn't get skunked. I bet that drum was fun to bring in!

Actually the gull was more fun trying to keep him from flying into other flat lines & antennas. Never saw a yellow bird actually flying 25 feet in the air.

Ive never had a gull yet but had a duck once when I was a kid on Cedar Lake on a rapala. Had to fight him out him out of the air with people staring at me like I was a bad person!

Thanks for the report.

Good job on the gaspergoo! The goo bite has been horrible this season. Worst I can remember for the past 10 years or so.
