Looks like the angry pirate seen it’s last trip out for the 2017 season. Like last year I kept a log off each trip out and how well we did. I had a total of 34 trips out 6 were perch trips. We caught a total of 322 salmon and trout. 227 coho, 6 Kings, 11 steelhead, 74 lakers, and 4 browns I had 2 skunks while king fishing in the fall and 2 one fish trips one in the spring after the coho moved out. And one in June fishing water we probably should have never went out in. With a 11.5 fish per trip average throughout the year. Not to bad for the year. Looking back at last years numbers coho were way up this year while king and steelhead numbers where down. For those who don’t know I spend next to no time near shore fishing after the coho move out in the spring. I know steelhead fishing was good near shore this year. Hope everyone has a nice holiday season.

It’s kind of fun to look back a watch the fish movements and how you did all year. I don’t think it really helps you catch more fish though. I can see patterns from last year to this year. There were a lot of differences but there were also some similarities. I did nothing different on targeting Kings and steel but numbers were way down this year offshore. If we did not have coho all summer it would have been a tough year big time.

Very nice job Bill.

And your right on about how the coho saved the year for us all. Now we need to work on getting more Kings for Indiana fishermen.

If we took all the kings caught by the southend, the number would be rather small in comparison to all other fish.

Nice Job Angry Pirate! Distribution was about the same for my boat(not as many fish though). Caught some really good size Kings and Steelhead but quantity were down from 2016 also. Thank goodness for the Coho this year.

Very true the kings and steel we did catch very good size but lacked number big time. The boats biggest steelhead to date came in this year.
