Took the day off to fish with my dad. Had planned on starting at the port but I saw a group at the ditch and figured why not. Got 4 rods out heading west and started to set the 5th before a triple was on. Turned back east after resetting and picked up a few more. Closer to the pier we got a hit from a big fish in the prop wash 40 ft back. Jumped like a steelhead but looked like a king when it got close to the boat. With a head shake and a roll it was gone just outside of netting.
Never went deeper than 16 ft and most fish were in 7-10 ft range. We stayed in front of Ogden dunes for the most part. Most of the fish came on red brads thinfish and red tadpollys with the big loss on a hotntot.
