We decided to fish the pro division - because.......meh what the hell lol. Didnt do so hot - had a good program set til the north blow happened and ruined our plan. We threw darts on where to go and it was not a bullseye lol. Made some changes and got some fish but too little too late.

I will say this though, if you want to get better at your craft, tournaments will do that for you. You just learn so much, and get to talk with people that did well and take away bits and pieces. So worth it. While we placed pretty low, had a heck of a fun time doing it.

We have spoken many times in the past about how much you learn when you shit the bed and how little you learn when you do well. When you have a bad day fun fishing and the radio chatter says bad fishing you put excuses in your mind to defend your bad trip. Tournament time that doesn’t seem to happen lol. Yea we did ok today but so many other boats made us look silly it would have been hard not to try and pick up some new knowledge.

There were a lot of 5 fish catches. Was that the limit for the tourney - best 5 fish? Any laker restrictions. Just makes it more understandable.

Weigh your top 5 fish. max of the 5 could be lake trout. Just about all the big weights were Kings. There was a lot of 5 king bags weighed.

I think Bill meant 3 of the 5 could be lake trout.

I don’t know what’s more impressive that Steelie or how well that Mercury holds up. If she had an odometer instead of hour meter it would probably be ready to roll over by now

Weigh best 5, no more than 3 lake trout.
Good stretch of kings apparently have been inside 45' from Warren Dunes to north of Cook plant for a couple of weeks. Top boats landed 10 or more to cull - including a stunning 25 lber - other boats fishing same water managed only a couple.
However, as always, patterns change quickly this time of year
