5 for 6 on kings. Six lines in 7:30-11:30 a.m. 40-50 feet of water between Lighthouse and condo. Sister Sledge (standard size Warrior spoon) took three at 28 on downrigger. Lots of bait on graph.
Sort of like fall chinook fishing - big fish (11-18 lbs), same zone, not a lot of bites but quality.
Notes from Classic (fished aboard another guy's boat 5-3 to 5-6, so no reports); lots of bait inside 40 feet, caught kings from MC to New Buff on Fri . with best spot just across Mich. line. Landed lots of kings with best 5 good for 84 lbs and 3rd in May 4 Hartman, but size of our salmon decreased during Classic.
Top finishers on Pro side caught their best kings at St. Joe on meat rigs.
Also, last Thurs, fished deep water (160-240') looking for lakers and coho. Best coho action was btw 200-240' (kept 17).
