On the water about 6am, went till about 3. Fished NW of the pier in 80 to 120 FOW. Ended up with 3 nice kings and 4 cohos. Biggest was 20, and a 17. The cohos were average and not as fat as earlier in the week. Unlike EVERYONE ELSE at the fish cleaning station that got theirs on spoons, all my fish came on flashers and flies and a meat rig. Not sure why the spoons didn't get touched. The smallest king hit a flasher/fly on 300 copper and managed to chug right through a 10 color LC on a board with a meat rig and cut it right off. I landed the fish, but kept an eye on my disappearing board the whole time. I cleared some lines and went on a retrieval mission. I caught up to the board and netted it. I'll be damned, the lead core was still attached. I started hand lining it in......and there was a coho on it!!!!! So I got the board and my meat rig back, and a fish after it was all said and done, lol. Both big kings came on flashers and flies on dipsies set at 3 and only out 45. So I'm not sure why yet. I don't have St Joe figured out at all. Everyone on the radio chatter was always tight lipped. Some guys at the fish cleaning station offered small bits of info, but not much. I don't know why everyone is always so protective...its a big lake....plenty of fish to go around. When people ask me, I'm more than willing to tell them exactly when, where, what, and how I caught fish....i know how it is to be clueless and fishless when locals are busy cleaning overflowing coolers hahahaha!!! I know people here have said it's kind of shut down since last week, but by my Chicago standards, there's still tons of kings still around. But Grand Haven people did do better yesterday. Waves were crazy big at 4 to 6 this morning. I made an attempt in my 16' tiller, but quit after an hour of getting slammed around!! Next weekend! Accidentally posted this in events yesterday.

Thanks for the detailed report - some people like to share information, and unfortunately others do not. Sounds like a productive day - sorry you lost a 10 color. Kings prep all winter to wreck your tackle :)
