A week ago Friday, I took the Sea Profit to 120 fow between Michigan City and New Buffalo. About 7PM I got to about 85 fow and marked a ton of bait fish, and got a big king on, but it got off right before I could net it. I had to leave, since I did not want to run back to Portage at 10 mph. Yesterday, I went back to the same spot but departed out of MC. No bait fish, no kings. Again at 7 pm, as I retrieved a spoon on a down rigger, I got a 5 lbs coho on. I put out flat lines and got another coho and a 5 lbs laker that actually put up a pretty good fight. When I cleaned them today, their digestive tracks were jam packed with small beetles. If I knew yesterday what I know today, I would have had nothing but flat lines out.
