Awesome! Seems like the steelhead lately have been good in the morning and less so in the evening based on what I have heard. Glad you got into the coho :)

How is the size looking for those coho?
Boatless!

I suspected the steelhead would be mostly gone yesterday. The nearshore water temps after the north blow was in the high 70s and basically, they won't tolerate water that warm. I passed on the nearshore bite and went out to the state line and headed a bit farther north to coho land. All my fish but one came on dodgers and flies. Shallowest bites were on a 150 copper. Riggers set from 40 to the bottom all took fish.

Several of the fish approached the 10 pound - mega-ho -size!

Back to the steelhead - the DNR tracks and photographs the steelheads swimming through the fish ladders at the St. Joe. They've noted the fish stop when the water temp gets above 72 (maybe 74) but the water was 77 in close yesterday at dawn. Makes sense to me if the fish balk at moving in high temperatures in the river, they will blow out to cooler water when they have the chance.
