Anybody else heading out this morning, launching out of portage around 7??

My brother grabbed the boat yesterday afternoon with the intent of hitting the lake around sunrise.

We went to Gary and couldn’t get anything going, sounded pretty slow for everyone on the radio. Seemed the fish that were being caught were tight on the beach in 15 ft of water or less. We ran back to portage after 2 hours or so and picked one coho up on the setup in 11 ft of water on but moved back out to deeper water in hopes of a king bite. Heard one guy on the radio with a king in the box. It was such a nice morning out on the lake that I think we’re going to go back out for the last couple hours of the day lol

Better than working

Went back out this afternoon and found some fish that wanted to bite. We fished in tight to the shore about half way in-between portage and Gary in 10 to 15 ft of water and ended up 7 for 11 I think. orange dodger with a green peanut fly out 12 ft on a dipsy # 3 setting was are best rod lol! It was hard to keep it in the water for a little bit. what ever puts fish in the box right. Also took fish on all are normal spoons and body baits out on boards and riggers. Are first bite was a very nice size coho or a decent size king that ate Moonshine Craigs flounder pounder RV spoon down 7 ft on a rigger. Wish we would have put that one in the boat but at least we kinda made up for the slow morning we had and yes Jeff, it was way better than being at work today!
