Started setting lines around 7:30, done at 10 with a 2 man limit. Split kings and coho and a steelhead. Kings have definitely gotten smaller, guessing the big ones have moved out at this point.

50 - 60 FOW. Only ended up as far West as Central beach and no more that a mile East of the lighthouse. Wanted to head out further hoping for some bigger fish in some colder water, but it's hard to leave an area when you are catching fish.

Ran 5 color, 150' copper, 200' copper, 2 riggers, and a dipsey. All mag spoons except for a standard and a slim on rigger sliders and a flasher / meat rig on the dipsey.

A couple of interesting events from the day: Had a hook snap clean off the split ring on a mag spoon on the 5 color. Also had what appeared to be a small mouth chase and bite a mag spoon on a half deployed 200' copper while I was reeling it in at light speed to get it cleared. At first glance I though it was a weed, looked back and watched it spit the hook and swim off.

Marked a good bit of bait, got a couple of pictures.

Ended up getting a GoPro, so ran that for the first time this trip. Quickly learned two things...
1. Make sure your belt is in good order. Mine was not and my shorts kept sliding down all day... Not good for video...
2. I swear like a drunken sailor when I'm fishing apparently and it's a pain to edit that out!

I plan to find a better place to mount it, as you cant really see the board rods in the trees from the current mounting position.

Here's a link to the video:

Nice job! I enjoyed your video. I have been a film maker for 34 years and I think your camera angle was great. If you try and get to much in the picture you are going to lose the detail in the action which is the back of the boat. the only way to get all of your rods in the picture is to use 2-3 cameras and edit in the strikes. The only way to improve your audio is with a separate audio recorder. the only way to fix your pants issue is to put another notch in your belt (LOL). If you do all these things you will be a true film maker too or you can just keep using one camera and keep catching a lot of fish, it was still fun to watch. thank you for sharing!

MC has been hot this year. Probably gonna die off pretty quick I would guess. Depends on the water temp. Hoping for a good few weeks of Skamania fishing coming up shortly though.

I would like to get one camera up high enough you can see all the rods and strikes, then maybe one mounted next to one of my riggers so you can see the back of the boat action. Would be cool to have a 3rd camera strapped to the net. Battery life is crap on the GoPro’s though. Definitely going to get an external battery pack for any fixed camera. Looks like there are a few out there that will keep it running all day plugged in. Takes away the waterproofing though having the door off / open. As long as it’s not raining, it doesn’t matter though. Biggest SD card they will take is a 256 GB, but that should run for about 8 hours on that same setting I used. 16:9 ratio 1080 res would get me a bunch more, but if I get the external battery packs I would probably try and shoot full 4k....

I don’t know that I want the audio improved at this point haha. There were a couple F bombs dropped that weren’t audible enough to have to edit out... that was a plus!
