Just found this site yesterday and it's got a lot of great information for NWI waters. Thanks. I've checked out the POI Resources available here but can someone tell me which of the two wrecks shown are known as "the wreck" as referenced in a couple of the latest reports?

I usually only fish NWI waters a couple times a year. Originally from the region but now live and fish out of Chicago. Looking forward to learning more from this site & contributing whatever I can.

Thanks,
Dave

I "think" its the David Dows but I am not sure. In my short Lake Michigan fishing experience I have never fished illinois or far west for that matter. That will change next year! lol.

I am sure someone else can confirm.

When I put the cursor on "the wreck" it pops up a balloon that says it's the Louisville. Dale (Pardytime) Pardy nailed the location. I seem to remember someone told me it was once a sailing ship but when steam engines came they chopped off the masts, and basically turned it into a barge. Was filled with coal and being towed when it went down. Good story, even if it's not true.

Awesome. Thanks all.

Nice seeing you on here too, Ed! Almost time to start shooting the bow and gearing up for deer season. Still have some fish to catch first!
