Sitting with my wife Sunday morning, looking at the beautiful spring, I happened to mention that I felt like going fishing. Her response, "Well you might as well go out after Easter Lunch since we're not doing anything else." (I love my wife!)

Dropped lines out of Burns Ditch and started prospecting. LOTS of fish, lots of pods of bait, but nothing took my offerings. Ran over to the Port and started a big loop at the harbor entrance. Again, lots of bait, lots of fish marked but managed to boat two 20" Coho, both with alewife hanging out of their mouths. A few drivebys and lost two which kept me in that same loop. A orange/chartreuse Hunter Boys Custom Rapala was the go-to with a few attempts on an orange/chrome spoon.

I washed just about every lure in my box, tried different speeds, depths, and approaches with little success. Talked to a couple guys at the landing around dark and they did much better further out.

LOTS of bait surrounded by wolf-packs throughout. The ones I marked were between 25' and 45'. I did notice a number of gulls feasting on what looked like whitefish as well.

Hope the next few days' blow doesn't mess things up too much.
