Surprise #1 today. Someone must have turned on the fan after I left yesterday. You know it's going to be bad when your boat starts bobbing when you get to the tall fishing pier at Portage Park. When I left the lake was flat. This morning four foot rollers from the NE and some chop from the SE. Holy bouncy ride. Only a single customer this morning (from Baltimore, MD) so stuck with a 6 rod spread. After a nearly one hour boatride, I shut down where I was catching the silver fish yesterday. First rod out, a laker rig, dodger-SNG on the bottom. 10 seconds later, fish-on. A coho! More silver! Should have knocked on wood.

But the lakers were hot. Caught half our limit on a down swell troll in aobut an hour 105ish FOW so I spun and headed upwind. Couldn't really control boat speed but with only six rods out, why not just pull and run back up and then troll the same track.

Had one rod left to pull and it got bit, so we only needed two more. Motored abut 3 miles NE and dropped one in again. Reaching for the second rod and the first one got bit. Another trout. Reset it and was reachiing for the second one and deja vu all over again. So I boosted the speed to about 2.7 and switched the laker-takers for stop-lights and orange spoons. Tightened the dipsey releases and added an 8 color with a bumble bee Pro King. Pointed the boat towards the Port and sloshed southward. Just cutting he last fish (I clean the fish on the boat since there's a lack of facilities at Portage) when the 150 copper with a medium orange spoon goes off. Alas, with about 100 feet to go, the steel jumped, gave us the fin-ger and spit the hook.

All in all, the Baltimorian had more fun than the rioters did earlier this summer.

Worked the 4s to the 9s EW. T-Cline still at 60 feet or so.
