Not sure if anyone else has felt the same but this year has been slow for our handful of outings, and based off of the reports lately it’s been slow for many.  South winds all week should mean good things, correct?  I expected this weather in the first week of April to have things popping off out there but it seems it’s been the opposite.  I even saw a charter boat already turning to lakers after the coho wouldn’t cooperate last week...Anyone have any ideas as to why?  Keep the reports coming as usual.  Will be out tomorrow out of Portage with a report to follow.

Your right, usually this time of year is snappin. There have been to many people out with similar bad reports to say its a fluke. I hope it picks up soon as in tomorrow for our coho tournament. I have also seen charters going to lakers already which in a usual year is still a couple months away.

It was definitely better in March.  The last couple outings haven't been very productive.

Been out four times, been very slow compared to other years at this time. Usually at this time of year fish are really biting, I've heard some have done very good and also some no so good. Not sure if wind being non consistent is the problem .

I’ve had the same experience. Sure we’re a lot of fish around over the winter and in early spring. Shoot, I caught more “spring” coho in November than I have in April. Lot of those fish hanging around this winter we’re good sized too. Definitely off.
