Fished 50-21 north to 55 then went east all the way to 105 fow. The only reason I turned east was I didn't want to get any further form portage and the waves would not let me go south. Fishing was steady. We lost as many as we caught. Came across A yellow rope with a float on it that cut two copper lines. Best rod was a rigger at 40ft with a white dogger fly. Next was dd out 105 with green spin doctor and fly. No lakers today.

Do you by chance still have the gps numbers were you lost your copper and saw the jug on the rope? Illinois fishermen are having problems with what you described. Dive boats have been leaving those out there. If you call the Illinois coasties they will go out to investigate and pull them. Your lucky thats all you lost. Its been much worse for others. Glad you mentioned it, there is more than just one spot where this is happening but all are in Illinois water.
