Where-N-ell did those storms come from this morning? Nothing between us and Denver when I checked the radar at 3AM.

Heading down the ditch I saw the clouds start to light-up. Confirmed my plan to fish close today. Some good marks in 15 to 20 FOW, no porpoising fish, no bites. My Sirius weather beeper started and we could easily see the darkness growing over Lake County. No raingear for my customers. After all the NWS said 20% showers after 1PM, So we yanked and cranked. I thought we'd beat the storm for a change but we were about at the "sailboat in the willow tree" when the first drops spattered down. I had raingear but thought it was probably a breach of etiquette to ask a customer to steer while I suited up. So we pulled up to the dock about 5 minutes after the rain started. That's a new record. Usually it's around 15 or 20 minutes and we are thoroughly soaked when we are tying up.

Watching Siriius, we pulled early, cleaned fish, and after coffee was poured at Denny's the storm hit, no power for 10 min. After a good breakfast the power was still out south of 94 on 421.

Power was out when I got home down in Newton County as well. No storms so I'm voting for a squirrel attack on a substation.

We were hit quite a ways offshore. Soaked to the bone. Glad the waves didn't get any worse than they did.
