Ddude2611Fishing and I hit the lake Saturday (3-5-2022). Based on the wind we drove to East Chicago and the report from boaters out already was a little ruff from the SE wind blowing into the Inland wall. We drove to Whiting to launch and found the launch there to be ice covered (yes ice) couldn't believe. Also the water level inside the launch area was the lowest I've ever seen. Sand bars were visible just to the left of the ramp. We headed to Hammond and the launch there was perfect. From the time we launch and returned we where the only boat out of Hammond.

We headed right to Inland Water Way with less than a two foot wave. Nice. Turned into the mouth by the lighthouse and immediately began graphing fish. Put out two planner boards and two flat lines. We trolled and trolled and trolled with only three hits no catches. It was amazing how any fish we were graphing in the area with lots lot bait fish.
Tried every color of our Brads lures as well as some little cleos. Few boats in the area trolling. Spoke to one and same report. Graphing fish but no hits.

Ended up back at Hammond with a great ride back and an empty live well. Still a great day out with friends. Remember if the lures are not in the water you have no chance of catching.

Be safe out there
