They are really bad in some of the ports to the north. This is the biggest reason Wisconsin has taken the task of using pen nets to hold and protect their fingerlings. They are also going to give the fish a better imprint which is so important for fall returns.
They have been filmed diving to depths of 140ft. to find fish to eat. And anything from very small to fairly good size all fall to them.
