First time ever on my own boat fishing salmon made possible with gear I pieced together with the help of members joez and reeltales. Started out 35 foot out in front of the pierheads no luck. After getting north of the piers headed out like most folks and started at 85' trolled SW before I could get my 2nd dipsey set I caught my 1st salmon the little one on a mag/ or spin dr./red fly. Slow couple hours from there until 10 color got crushed and fish broke rod. We managed ro get that in and 2 more losing 3. (Not bad for first time salmon with a friend who has never caught a salmon or steelhead)At 2:30 pulling my last rod in had the big steelhead hit as the planar board was popped. Overall 5 for 8, 85-120 ft. hot setup was the dipsey mentione, also 10 color w/ pro king skeletor and 5 color with my son's favorite pokemon. Amazing day and I am officially addicted to the big lake. Thanks board for your help.
