TOPIC:

Left the dock at 5:30 and set up right where we left off a few days earlier in 35 fow heading towards Gary.  We could tell in the first hour that it was not going to pop off like it had the other night but we still had a slow pick up and down the beach and until about 10:00 when we moved to the Port just to switch it up.  We only ended up picking up one more by the Port but was impressed with the amount of bait in both areas.  The final tally at 11:30 was 7/12- not our best hookup ratio but it was just one of those days.  All were coho spare for a steelhead that took the board for a ride and gave us an aerial show before spitting the bait.  2 color dodger/blue fly did most of the work.  Overall I felt like we had a respectable amount of hookups/opportunities given the fishing was tougher than I expected but just couldn't keep them pinned.  Nothing to complain about weather-wise- couldn't have asked for a better day on that front.

Both were used but the 2" flies took the majority. Specifically asteroid 2" coho fly by Rapture Trolling Flies.
