I've either been sick or far offshore recently. (I'm better, now - summer cold.) I'd have thought with the southerly winds and extreme heat, the conditions nearshore for Skamanias would be excellent.  Anyone even trying? Success? Failure?

Tried twice in the last week with nothing to show for it.  We've tried before and after heading out deep.

I know a few have been caught nearshore but not hot and heavy like you'd expect with how the water temps were.

I think a lot of them ran up the tribs before the water warmed up and the thermocline arrived. There were decent numbers running up Trail Creek in mid-May and we were done with broodstock by mid-June

Mike, glad you are feeling better!  When you say "far offshore" how far and how was the fishing if you don't mind sharing?

12 to 16 miles out of East Chicago.   Give or take a few numbers   50 X 20 and 75 feet of water.  Mostly cohos. Mostly dodger and flies.
