Hey everyone this spring is off to a good start. Fish size looks good. Doesn't look like one of those springs were we would be having to measure to keep legal fish.
So can we make this spring a little different?
This board was designed to help each other out there. What helps each other is reports when we are fishing. Reports shouldn't be just a few on this board making all the post. If your a newbie please get used to putting up reports. There are those days when we may have had a bad day. We all have them. Bad water is just as good as good water to fish to report on. Why send someone out to an area that isn't really producing. Or maybe it was your presentation that needed some modifications.
We can help each other have good days out there. We can't help each other if we don't post.
When this board went into its start, that is the one item all members coming over from other boards that existed mentioned. That members here shared information. And posted good or bad. This wasn't set up to be a trophy board.

Beginners, I get it your shy, so what? You fish and want to get better right? We all can help each other. You don't have to be exact with your information. An example: I fished today and went west out of the ditch and fish 40ft. Caught fish on j-9's, thinfins, and some dodger fly combo's. Or went west and fishing was poor so picked up and went east. Fishing got better when we fished east. Somedays it is speed more then color. There is alot that we can do to help each other. lets start this spring off with a bang with reports.

Good post above. I was surprised to only see one report from last weekend with the weather the way it was. Those reports really help for those with a long haul just to get to the lake.

At 4pm on a Thursday with the portage marina parking lot packed full of trucks with trailers I'd hope there's a report or 2 coming soon.

I got out twice this week (3/11 and 3/13) from EC. Monday was shakedown trip with another writer on board. Everything on the boat working as expected. I knew I was going to be out on Wednesday and an east wind predicted so I headed to west side of Cliff's Steelmill to fish 3rd lite to ship canal where I knew it would be calm on Wednesday. We found some fish close to 3rd light when the wind changed and it got snippy in about 5 minutes straight from the north. We pulled lines and headed over to the 2nd light and fished in the WIND down to the Hole-in-Wall. Finished up in about an hour and released two more cohos while clearing lines.
Wednesday, the wind/waves were light so we just started close to the marina. Fishing mostly in the middle of the bay. The fishing was steady to the point I never did get all the lines out. All crankbaits - all orange - ThinFins - ShadRaps - ScatterRap.  Three on a Tiny Tad (Tadpolly) I picked up at a yard sale a week or so ago. Pradco bought Heddon (maker of Tadpollies) years ago and stopped production of Tadpollies. I ran through mine years ago so it was fun catching some fish on the new "old timey" lure.  Didn't have time to do any photos, but I measured one of the bigger ones yesterday at 22".  The smallest was 16"
