Headed out @6am to check the perching grounds.  Jigged around for about an hour with no bites. Waves were not terrible but the water clarity was very chalky. Headed in to Gary light to troll for some silver. 2.5-3sog with Thin fish on boards 35,55,70’ back.  They all steadily took fish. Nothing huge but also no shorties today. Biggest was 20’ and they were all hungry. No drive by’s as all were engulfing the rear treble hook. Good day on the water and the CO was keeping everyone honest at the launch.  I’m looking forward to the Cabin Fever tourney coming up, stay safe and good luck!

Those tasty little dickens got my wife hooked on big water fishing during the Covid lockdowns.  Hammond and Portage were the only public places open, not just to launch, but for anything.  I was renting 800 sq ft in Munster and she got a notice from her MN based company to work from home.  She stayed 9 weeks and we fished every weekend, weather permitting.  Our first trip was out of Hammond.  I told her to put on her rainsuit.  "It's not raining."  Ok, but the water is cold and the wind is blowing.  We got a 2 person limit at the mouth of the river and she got soaked and froze.  She complained all the way home and took a shower to warm up while I cleaned fish.  I put two small ones on the grill for dinner and, after half a fillet, she smiled and said, "We're going out again!"  And we did!

That’s an amazing confession as to what our Great Lake resources provides for us!  I’m torn between the South End and Lake Erie. Fish on!

That's why I fish both......I do believe Erie is heaven on Earth, I plan on relocating there after I retire......
