Went 11 for 18 and lost a lot of hardware. 1 Brown and 10 Coho. Orange Dodgers and flies on Dipsey's and Riggers 8-12 down and an assortment of surface rapalas on yellow birds. Had 3 breakoffs off the birds, one was a nice Laker and the other two we never saw. The Laker bent the hook off of a rapala behind the boat, the other two were snapped o rings off the front of the lure. We also ended up recovering 2 of the 3 yellow birds. If anyone recovered a yellow bird last seen along the inner wall at Gary Light please PM me! Other than the multiple lost items, it was a pleasant day until the North blow came in the afternoon. Glad to see that most boaters played nice in the sandbox yesterday.!!! I'd like to thank the boats who helped keep an eye on the lost birds until I was able to lap around and pick them up. It's good to have a helpful eye on the waters. Happy Easter!!!

If you don't already I would write your name and phone number on the planar boards with a sharpie. I was told to do this with mine - I guess there have been a few people who have gotten their planars back because they had the info on them. Sucks to lose hardware but at least you had some hook ups along the wayl

Hello Blue Moon. I was the Blue Hewes (Plane to Sea) in front of you most of the morning. We caught 13 coho & 1 brown. Had a great time until it started getting a little crowded, had to leave the rat pack. I use Big Jon boards in the spring for coho. The key is the clip on the back of the board. I use the OR 16's. It has a pin in the middle. If you put the line behind the pin, the board does not release and you only have to pinch the clip for a quick release. Off Shore Tackle has them for $4.75 ea.
Well worth the investment. By the way, you did not get any of my lines when you had to turn to avoid the boat that cut you off. You got a nice looking boat!

Thanks for the info! I am a fan of your Hewes boat also and very jealous of your gas mileage!!! See you next time on the water!!! Soon it will be summer and we will be out 10-15 miles with lots of open water....
