Got off to a really late start, the guy coming with was an hour and 15 min late or so. When he finally got there we set lines around 930 am in 45 fow and fished till 12 ending in 120 fow.

Went 1 for 1 on a mag green moonshine (150 copper) coho in 80 fow.

Didnt mark much besides lakers on the bottom. Started putting more lures in that 40 to 50 foot down mark after we netted the coho but just not to much time to play around with.

It was a expensive day. My coated rigger cable with my depth raider snapped out of no where half way in the trip. Also lost a dodger spin n glow and the rigger ball.

Glad you got a coho! That stinks about the gear! I was annoyed I had a diver with a flasher/fly snap off at a weak spot in the wire when I was pulling lines. That's cheap compared to you.

Thanks for the condolences. It was the senser that had low batteries and shouldnt be that hard to get running again. (Looking at the bright side). Maybe in the future I wont run 12 lb riggers balls on it. Cable just broke clean 30 feet from the end of it.

Several years ago i switched from the cable supplied by Depth Raider to one made by the same people that make Torpedo Divers. By far a superior product so if you are looking to replace the cable, look into it.

I'd continue to run the 12 pound weights on the DR. Too much blow back on 10s to get accurate readings and will actually throw off the speed reading because of the angle the probe is traveling through the water. You'll look at the readout and it will say 2.4, so you bump the speed and it will drop to 1.9. Stick with the 12.

Thanks Mike. I will stick with the 12's and I will look into that cable. The one I was using was the sub moore probe cable ( or something like that). The tackle shop I purchased it from only had that 1 option. Where is a good place to find the one your talking about?
