Good evening all! I was wondering if I could get any friendly advice for trip out tomorrow morning. We have no riggers but we're going to run three mag dipsy diver on braid one number 1 dipsy on braid and one 10 color lead line. We have a mix of flashers and spin doctors blue green white black gold flies as well as a variety of Spoons. Boat is geared with lowrance hook 7 and were on a 35' sea Ray. We're wondering where we should head out of Hammond and what water depth to look for or fish. Thanks for any input it's appreciated.

We were going to try making it out today and it didn't happen due to weather. We went out tonight around 6 for a boat ride and it wasn't to bad. They are calling for 10mph northwest so we're looking to at least give it a shot tomorrow

Gl if you guys get out. Lakers have been reported in 50 to 80 fow. Coho are 150 fow and beyond around the lake. They have been top to bottom.

If you dont have riggers you can run dipseys on a 0 setting and they will go down and not to the side. This allows you to get deeper quicker. Then also run some dipseys on the sides along with leadcore or copper on planer boards. Remember 10 color will get down 40 to 50 feet depending on speed.

Thanks that what our game plan is. We will see how the lake looks in the morning before heading out. We were planning on heading north east out of Hammond to get in deeper water.

Absolutely! Thanks for the help. Is there a water depth we should be shooting for to start our morning in.

The water is going to be dirty close in. Weather permitting I wouldn't start anything less than 60fow.

I will also be heading out in the morning out of east Chicago heading to 65' before dropping lines. Depending on the lake depends on where I drop I want to be on the state line. Don't expect any waves much less than 4 footers in the morning. I will be on 68 feel free to call me, angry pirate.

We made it out of Hammond at 6am and ran north to the state line about 10 miles out. Started trolling northwest and had trouble keeping the boat in one direction. We spun around and shot for Michigan city. First fish was on around eight and was 6.75lbs. 50' down on a spin doctor and blue/green fly. Next fish was on at nine and was 5.5 lbs. and was caught on a clear/silver flasher and a white shiny fly. At that point we were in 4-7 footers and had to head in. We went two for two within two hours of fishing so we were happy. The 15 mile ride home was rough but thanks everyone for the guidance we can't wait to get back out on a calmer day.
