I'm thinking about taking the plunge and investing in a center pin combo. [also know as a mooching reel]. I fish the creeks a lot in the fall, winter, and spring. mostly for steelies and salmon. My question is what combo would you suggest and what should I stay away from. I know Kingpin reels and Loomis rods are top notch. But I don't think that is in the budget my wife gives me. lol Any input will help thanks.......
Do you check ebay at all? There is a fella that sells fenwicks at a fair price and he had some center pin rods for sale. Sometimes he has rods that were display models sold without a warranty for around 1/2 the price that they are regular. I have bought some rods- Fenwicks and are very happy with them. I think hes in Iowa and sells under the name taclemaniac
