Has anyone seen the new site to buy a fishing license or tried to use it? Would like your thoughts if you have. Maybe its just me but seems much harder to use and now there are extra fees added on that where not there before. Did they change it around just so they could add on extra charges? It doesn't seem to user friendly like the older version.

I went ahead and registered to check it out. It all seemed to be flawless. The initial setup was more involved but it should be. Once logged in it seems simplistic and intuitive. The previous DNR site site had a lack of accounts and options, and in my opinion was very insecure. It is now secure which is probably why the entire system was redesigned.

For fishing I didnt see any new fees or options. I am not sure about hunting since I really dont hunt.

2 different fees now one for the account and one for printing the license. Neither of those were there before Jeff. I was curious Donna hadn't bought a license til yesterday morning. She works with computers but not like you do. She was pretty upset with the new arrangement. Since shes the one that controls the money she was the one to notice the added on new fees that were not there before. I don't think they show up until you purchase and print from the new site.

The 2 fees are,
#1. A tech fee of $2.00
#2. A Credit Card Transaction fee. of $1.62

Don't recall those before.

My fishing license fee was 28.00 in April. My wife purchased the same license and it cost more then mine. Same license for the same year. Only change seems to be a new site. And added fees.

So I just called the customer service department down in Indy. The short of it is since the site has been changed they are now tagging on these new fees.

So I forgot to ask this question to the customer service lady, " Am I (we) going to get hit with the new tech fee for every different transaction?
For example - I purchase from the state a fishing license, a bow license, a gun license,a muzzle loader license, and extra doe tags. On the old site I could do that individually when I wanted to get what ever I need. The way it looks now hope I'm wrong but thinking that I(we) will get hit with these new fees for every single transaction unless I buy all at one time. Not sure its new but thats the way it seems to appear.

My buddy just used the system and was not happy at all with the confusion and new fees. It's always something. Glad I have lifetime fish/hunt licenses, but my wife doesn't. I look forward to throwing a good kaniption fit come fall...she hasn't wanted to go fishing yet!
