Haven't heard anyone mentioning the water clarity yet. Methinks it's still pretty clean. That's one of the issues.

Dirty water absorbs more sun and warms more quickly. Several years ago we had a long sunny warm spell, clean water and the whole surface of the lake warmed at once. Coho fishing suffered because the water was as coho-friendly 30 miles offshore as it was in 30 feet of water along our shore.

A good, rip'n Nor'Easter piles huge waves on the shoreline on the Wisconsin side, a lot of which is clay. The clay riles up, the wind and current send it down the lake and our water looks "chalky." Then the shallows really warm quickly and really pulls in the cohos.

Sure couldn't hurt...

Definitely have some water temp issues that are not particularly normal for this time of year
